　　this short novel is universal in its consideration of the plight of an old man struggling against age, loneliness, mortality, humility and poverty to maintain his identity and dignity. apart from that, the cheerful and optimistic old man wants to reestablish his reputation in the community. besides, he also wants to ensure for all time his relationship with those he loves and to whom he hopes to paon everything he values the most. finally, he survives and wins the battle. this has shown his heroic struggle not only redeems himself but also inspires and spiritually enriches those around him.

It had to be someone who was humorous by nature and fluent in English. Suddenly, all eyes turned to me, and I knew I would have to be the dwarf. 　　Given a choice, I would rather be ugly than live in such a world. I'd rather be a genuine dwarf accompanying a Snow White than be a Snow White among nothing but Snow Whites. I would rather be myself. I would contribute my individual and unique colors to create a more diverse universe. Please, be yourself.

　　I was surprised ,when the old man fell down in the street,We are afraid to help him.I was disappointed ,when someone do good things were reported,many people think he was affectation, I was sad,when I saw many of young people become indifferent ,fraud and lack of ideal.

　　Are we sick, or is our dear motherland sick?

　　我很惊讶，当大街上有老人摔倒，我们不敢再去扶起;我很难过，当有人做了好事被报道，更多的人说他做作;我很伤心，当我看到我们众多的青年人变得冷漠、市侩、欺诈以及缺乏理想。
